We have compiled a list of some of the most frequently asked questions about staying at Hotel Nacional de Cuba. If you still do not find the answer to your query, feel free to get in touch, and we’d be more than willing to assist you


What time can I Check-in and Check-out?

Hotel check-in is at 16:00; check-out is at 12:00. The minimum age to check in as a guest is 18 years old, unless accompanied by an adult.

Do you offer Early Check-in and Late Check-out?

Early Check-in and Late Check-out can be purchased in advance at the following link: Early Check-in and Late Check-out – Hotel Nacional de Cuba

Once it has been booked, the Guaranteed Early Check-In is at 10:00 a.m. and Late Check-Out at 6:00 p.m.
Guests staying at our Executive Floor can enjoy free late check-out until 4:00 pm subject to availability.
In addition, our Bell Desk staff will be happy to hold your luggage until your room is available.

What meal plans are available at the hotel?

All room reservations include a complimentary continental breakfast buffet, served daily at “La Veranda” restaurant from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

We offer the following Accommodation Meal Plans:

Half Board (HB) – Modified American Plan (MAP)

Includes breakfast and dinner.

Breakfast: Continental buffet with hot and cold options, coffee, tea, and juices.

Dinner: Set menu with three choices for each course, plus one bottle of water and one beverage per person. Available in all hotel restaurants.

Meal times: Lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; dinner from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Lunch is not included. Dinner may be swapped for lunch with advance notice, subject to hotel policy. Snacks, extra beverages, and room service are not included.

Full Board (FB) – American Plan (AP)

Includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

All meals follow the same set‑menu format as Half Board, with three choices per course and one bottle of water plus one beverage per person. Meals may be enjoyed in any hotel restaurant.

Meal times: Lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; dinner from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Snacks, extra beverages, and room service are not included.

The hotel also offers a variety of dining options, including buffet service, themed menus, à la carte restaurants, and several bars.

Do you offer advance day passes to access the swimming pools, sauna or gym?

No. Access to the hotel’s swimming pools, sauna, and fitness center is exclusively reserved for registered hotel guests. During their stay, guests may request day passes for accompanying visitors through the Concierge Desk. On rare occasions and strictly subject to availability, a limited number of day passes may be issued in person on a first-come, first-served basis at the Concierge Desk.

Is your Reception Desk open 24 hours?

Yes, our Reception Desk is open 24 hours a day; therefore you will not need to worry about late Check-in. We will be happy to welcome you at the hotel and help you with your Check-in at any time.

What’s your cancelation policy for accommodations?

Once you have made a reservation with us you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the cancellation policy. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this policy. If for any reason, you do not understand any part of the terms and conditions of the cancellation policy, please contact us prior to placing your order.

• Reservations booked and paid online at www.hotelnacionaldecuba.com may only be canceled up to 7 days prior to the check-in date.
• No refunds will be issued for early departures or modifications that decrease the total reservation value.
• There will be no refunds for reservations that include December 24th or December 31st.
• There are no refunds, cancellations or changes for special rates, last-minute sales or other non-refundable bookings.
• All reservations will be charged the amount equal to the first night when canceled.

Please be aware that our hotel cannot assume responsibility if guests do not obtain the required travel visas or government permissions for travel to our country or stay at our hotel. If such a situation arises, we will adhere to our standard cancellation policy. We urge all guests to verify their travel documents and stay updated with current regulations before making a reservation.Please refer to our Reservations Policy page for more information.

Does my room reservation include breakfast?

Yes, your room reservation includes a daily complimentary continental breakfast buffet which is served at Buffet restaurant “La Veranda” from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
If you have an early flight on the day of departure, you may request a packaged breakfast in advance. Requests must be made with our Concierge Desk the day prior to departure. The packaged breakfast can be collected from the breakfast buffet area starting at 4:00 a.m. on the day of your check-out.”

Can I book on someone else’s behalf?

Yes, you are welcome to book on behalf of someone else. When making a reservation, please make sure to add the name of the main guest in the online reservation form. Please sent to [email protected] a copy of the credit card used for the reservation, showing only the last 4 digits, along with an official photo ID that matches the name on the card.
You can change the name of a guest in an existing reservation by filling out all the requested information at: https://hotelnacionaldecuba.com/myreservation/

In order to change the name of a confirmed reservation, we must receive and process your request at least 24 hours prior to check-in.

Can I modify or cancel an existing reservation?

Bookings paid by guests on our website are automatically confirmed. Depending on the reservation type, you have the option of cancellation or modification.

Please note the request for modification of your confirmed reservation must be submitted at least 24 hours before the time of check-in.

Do you have Wi-Fi service?

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available to all registered guests throughout the hotel, including guest rooms and most common areas. The internet connection provides speeds of up to 10 Mbps for both upload and download

Do you have an elevator?

Yes, we have four elevators for exclusive use of our guests.

Is the hotel friendly to guests with special accessibility needs?

Yes. Everyone is welcome at Hotel Nacional de Cuba and we do our utmost to ensure that our hotel is accessible to all, and therefore we are constantly improving our facilities to make them the most accessible to everyone. Please check the Rooms and Amenities page for more information.

Do you offer airport shuttle service?

The hotel does not offer a complimentary airport shuttle service. However, for your convenience, we would like to suggest you book your private transfer from Havana Airport to the hotel at the following link.

Can I bring my pet inside the hotel?

As much as we love pets, unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate them in our rooms or any of our common areas.

What is your smoking policy?

Our hotel is 100% smoke-free. You can smoke in designated smoking areas outside the hotel.

What kind of currency and forms of payment can I use at the Hotel?

At Hotel Nacional de Cuba we accept payments in cash in USD, EUR o CAD. Payments in cash in Cuban Pesos (CUP) are not longer accepted.

In addition, we accept payments in most Credit Cards, such as Visa, Mastercard, Union Pay, Ocean Card, CABAL and American International Service (AIS) as long as they have not been issued by U.S. banks or their subsidiaries.

We also accept the following Tourist Prepaid Cards:

  • Bandec Tarjeta Prepago USD (Prepaid Card)
  • Tarjeta Clásica USD (Classic Prepaid Card)

The cards can be purchased exclusively at The Foreign Exchange Offices (CADECA) nationwide, including airports, hotels, and ports, as CADECA is the sole authorized issuer. Cash withdrawals in local currency (cup) are available through ATMs and POS terminals. The minimum initial deposit is USD 50 and the maximum is USD 1,000, and customers may purchase multiple cards. Each card is valid for five (5) years. In case of loss, inquiries, or claims, customers should call 8020 1996 or visit any Banco de Crédito y Comercio (BANDEC) branch in the country.

Please note all prices at www.hotelnacionaldecuba.com are quoted in US Dollars. However, online payments with VISA or MasterCard at www.hotelnacionaldecuba.com are charged in Euros and include all additional charges of our credit card processor in Europe.

Can children stay for free?

Yes, kids 2 years-old and below are allowed to stay free-of-charge. The number of kids may vary depending on the room type.

Is there a fitness center in the hotel?

Situated close to the main swimming pool, our fitness center facility operating schedule is from Monday to Sunday from 6:00 AM to 12:00 MN

Is the Cabaret Parisien opened every day?

The world-famous Cabaret Parisien operates from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (Friday through Tuesday). Reservations are available at a special rate here

Is there a Sauna at the hotel?

Yes, there is a sauna as well as steam showers at the hotel for the exclusive use of our guests.

Does my room have a safe deposit box?

Your safety is our business. For your security and convenience, we strongly recommend that all valuables be kept in your safe for the duration of your stay. The management shall not be held liable for any loss within the hotel.

What is the hotel’s policy on allowing visitors in guest rooms?

For the safety and privacy of our valued guests, Hotel Nacional de Cuba strictly limits room access to registered guests only. Unfortunately, non-registered visitors are not permitted in the guest rooms. However, we welcome visitors to enjoy our public areas, including the lobby, restaurants, and bars. If you have a special request or an exceptional circumstance, please contact our front desk team, who will be more than happy to assist you within our policies. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Do the rooms have a fridge or mini bar?

Yes, all of our hotel rooms carry a mini refrigerator.

What is the standard voltage of a room?

The hotel electrical system is 110V/60Hz. The outlets at all rooms and in the rest of the hotel common areas are plug types A and B, also known as the American Model.

Are there any banks or stores near by?

There is a mini market on the ground floor on the hotel, very close to the reception desk. There are several bank offices, a money exchange office (CADECA), postal offices, and all sort of stores within walking distance from the hotel.

Is there somewhere I can storage my luggage?

Yes, we can look after your luggage. We will store your luggage free of charge on your check-in and check-out days.

Is there car parking available at the hotel?

Yes, our hotel has a car parking for our guests (free of charge)

Are coffee makers or kettles available in the rooms?

Yes, all of our rooms are equipped with modern capsule coffee machines, which can also be used to prepare tea or herbal infusions. Additionally, a larger electric kettle can be provided upon request for in-room use.

How can I contact your Concierge Desk?

Does the hotel have its own power generation system?

Yes. The Hotel Nacional de Cuba is equipped with its own backup power generation system to ensure continuity of essential services in the event of a power outage. This system allows the hotel to maintain guest comfort and safety by supporting key operational areas during interruptions to the public electrical grid, including elevators, restaurants, guest rooms, and common areas.

Is Havana safe for visitors?

Havana continues to welcome millions of visitors each year, and the vast majority of guests enjoy their stay without incident. Authorities maintain a visible presence, particularly in popular tourist areas, contributing to a generally safe environment.
As in any major city, guests are encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings and take basic precautions. The most common issues involve minor offenses such as pickpocketing or opportunistic theft, mainly in crowded areas or places with limited lighting.
For a safe and pleasant stay, we recommend:
• Keeping personal belongings secure and out of sight
• Avoiding walking alone at night in poorly lit areas
• Using official taxis or transportation recommended by the hotel
• Never leaving personal items unattended
